About Roger Barrow

- In a career spanning some 43 years with John Lewis and Waitrose,
Roger's passion for customers was legendary among his peers
throughout the company, and his inspiration paved the way for much
of the company's now renowned standards of customer care.
- From a job on the shop floor in Oxford Street in 1965, to head
of Waitrose Food and Home in Canary Wharf from 2002, Roger has been
responsible for the service received by a countless number of
customers.
- He has been the inspiration for many thousands of John Lewis
Partners, leading by example. He understands what customers
want, and most importantly, how empowerment and good leadership can
motivate staff to provide service that simply captivates customers.
- Rogers involvement in the Internet started when the web was in
its infancy in 1988 with his first web design and hosting company

specialises in advising and helping small businesses obtain a succesful

avid sailor and qualified yachtmaster, Roger runs a successful
Marine business, World Marine, providing sailing days and corporate
and team building experiences on his fully equipped Cromarty 36
yacht.
- Now retired to pursue a freelance career, he lives in
Chichester, married to Pat and has 2 older children. In his
spare time is an keen amateur musician.
